Duskholm in 'Advanced' Talks for Saints' Kessler Vex? (Maybe?)
Per sources, two teams might be discussing a player. We think.

SOURCES CLOSE TO the Duskholm Specters front office are in what can only be described as "exploratory conversations" with the Ironveil Saints regarding Pro Bowl-adjacent receiver Kessler Vex, according to three people familiar with the matter whose names I will not mention because they may or may not exist.
Vex, 28, has compiled a respectable 847 receiving yards over the past two seasons and is celebrated league-wide for his signature move—the "Vex Hex"—which critics argue either represents peak route-running innovation or just looks like he's confused. The Saints have, according to less-reliable sources, become increasingly open to trading their star amid salary cap considerations and the alleged internal decision to "rebuild around youth we haven't acquired yet."
The proposed framework—and we stress "proposed," given how preliminary these discussions allegedly are—would see Duskholm send a 2027 second-round draft pick and defensive end Marcus Tegg (durability uncertain) to Ironveil in exchange for Vex and conditional future considerations. Sources suggest both teams are "very interested" in making something happen, though one insider admitted to us that "interested" might just mean they're in the same group chat.
A secondary contingency under discussion, per two sources who requested anonymity for very normal reasons, would involve Duskholm also sweetening the offer with young cornerback prospect Didgeridoo Crimson. Whether this actually improves the deal remains philosophically debatable.
League insiders describe Vex as a "plug-and-play receiver with character concerns," which apparently means he once wore mismatched socks to practice. His durability has been flawless—zero missed games—though Saints staff has hinted at unnamed "off-field complications" that are either deeply serious or complete fabrication.
Both organizations have declined public comment, which obviously means negotiations are happening at maximum velocity. Saints management is expected to make a final decision by summer, or possibly never. The Specters, meanwhile, are "prepared to move aggressively," whatever that means.
Stay tuned for further developments, or don't—honestly, we're all just making this up.
